DJA Announces Technology Grants $$ for 2024

The Department of Justice recently published its Fiscal Year 2024 Program Plan, with a list of amounts and areas on which public funding will be focused. For 2024, the following grants can be used for biometric technology enhancements such as ABIS, livescan, mugshot, mobileID, and rapidDNA:

  • Byrne JAG Grant:

    • Local Solicitation -- $103M

    • State Solicitation -- $210M

  • NCHIP -- $64M

  • Coverdell Grants:

    • Competitive Grants -- $4.6M

    • Formula Grants -- $26M

  • Other DNA initiatives:

    • DNA CEBR -- $103M

    • Post-Conviction DNA Testing -- $12M
